Flamingo Love | By Olga

Hello paper crafters, I hope you are having a wonderful week!

The idea of the card I have created today couldn't be any simpler - it is just sticking some die cuts on top of a colorful background. It is the magic of alcohol inks and unique and whimsical Gummiapan designs that make this card so special.

I have used just one color of ink (Watermelon) on Yupo paper for the background and attached just one die cut image plus a sentiment to create the entire composition.

Watch the step by step video tutorial to find out all the details on how to make this card!

Maja Nyhavn scene setting | By Lou

Good Morning everyone. It's Lou in with a make for you today.

I have been holding onto to the last few pieces of my Maja Designs Nyhavn ( New Harbour) collection  papers in readiness for this super fun make.

For the box base I used some dies from my stash but it's the papers that are the absolute stars on this make.

From the first day I got them, I just knew the piece with the people, and the piece with the stunning little houses on would make the most fun with fussy cutting to make a little scene!

You can just about see in this photo where I used my hot glue gun on the couple piece, and the father and daughter, to make them pop out from the front of their placements. Even the border strip with the sweet sentiment on it could be used as part of this make.

Maja Life by the Sea | By Lynn

Hi - It's Lynn here today with a make using the new Maja Life by the Sea papers which I just love. There are so many different designs and they are useful for so many occasions.

I thought one of the papers looked liked sand and so I made a little beach for my Laserowe mermaid to sit on. I used one of the papers to look like stars in the sky and then angled it to look like the sea with star fish being washed up on the beach. I used the star die from Roxstamps nesting square die set to cut the star fish!

I used the star die again to make stars for the sky. I love the lighthouses that you get in the paper pad.
I used the Gummiapan Happy Birthday Text background stamp for the mermaid to be gazing out to at sea. I coloured her hair with metallic markers but left the rest of the chipboard as I wanted a natural look. I used some more of the star paper to back her.

This is a Happy Birthday die (lineart) from Gummiapan and the font is so contemporary. I cut it from some navy card as a contrast.

A final look at my finished card.

Design Team Celebration June 2018

Hi crafty folk.

Today I decided to make a video for the first time, as many asked me for it and I it can't be better than this celebration.

In June we celebrate first year of having a Design Team at Swedish House Crafts. I am very proud of every team member we have, standing by my side and keeping us all inspired.  It has been quite a journey and more to come, hopefully.

However it is not only my team who has been inspiring everyone, you all did. Each time you post a work of yours, we get inspired by the variety of makes, the beauty of the finished work and the innovation. I just get very inspired, proud and happy that I could have a stamp, a die, a paper that you did use in your makes and turned out fabulous.

Therefore June will be a thank you month to all of you. Every crafter who spent time, energy and  pennies in my store, showed me what you did with Gummiapan, Roxstamps, Maja Design, Pion Design and Magnolia Stamps deserves a personal thank you from us…

So in return what I will be doing is visiting all posts on major social media platforms, such FB, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube to get more inspiration from you and will definitely say hi. This will take place between 1 and 30th June 2018. Yes, this is a lot of time to spend roaming posts but you are worth it. Whether you are in a team or not, that doesn’t change the fact that you are a designer.

How to Participate:

You actually have a slot of about 5 weeks starting today if you like to participate. I know preparing a post takes time, so I hope that helps. It is not a competition, it is just getting to know you closer.

What you’re going to do is write a simple short post, if you like to leave me an open message, go ahead, if you like to show me a make in that post, just do it. Feel free to show your style, whatever you like to show.

I recommend you use hashtag your post on any social media you use, just in case I miss, I will look out for it through the hashtag

   One Special Community

Finally I would like to thank Anna-Lena, designer and owner of Roxstamps Sweden for sending all those gifts for the Swedish House Crafts Design Team. We are thrilled with the beauty of the new dies that were inspired by SHC. That is amazing! Thank you so much Anna-Lena.

Quick and easy Peacock card using Pion Design | By Anna Sigga

Hi there it's Anna Sigga here today with a quick card using Pion Design papers and Gummiapan dies.

These Pion Design papers from The World Awaits collection are oh so stunning and I particularly love all those cut-a-part vintage inspired images.

This peacock looks so elegant and stunning so I wanted to create a simple card to spotlight this image.

I used the Scalloped circle die from Gummipan to create the focal point of the card and embellished it with flowers and glitter drops.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you are looking for more inspiration from me you can check out my YouTube channel and of course my blog: Scrappalicious.

With Laserowe Love | By Liz

Hi guys, I've made a card using one of the adorable Laserowe Love chipboards Suha has in her store. I love to use chip boards and there are lots of beautiful styles to choose from.

I began by using some of the lovely papers by Pion from the Patchwork Of Life set, do check these out the price is amazing!!! Anyway I cut down a few of the different  paper patterns and distressed the edges, which as you know I love to do.

This is the said chipboard Heart, I kept mine as it came but you can paint them or glitter them or distress them too. I added a couple of butterflies which I made out of vellum onto which I used a versa mark ink pad and then some embossing powder over the top. When I'd heat set them I cut them out. At the bottom of the heart I used some of the adorable flowers Suha has in her store.

As you can see I also used two different sizes of the Gummiapan banner die for a little added interest. I simply distressed the edges after first die cutting them out. They cut out a dream, as do all the Gummiapan dies available in store.

Tilda With Froggy in the Summertime | By Becky

Good morning everyone, Becky here with you today and at last in the UK we have had a little glimpse of some warm weather, admittedly it didn't last for long and I was on nights one of the days; but still winter is far behind us now, yay!! So I decided to use the perfectly named papers from Maja Design, Summertime!! Check out the end of the post for the links to everything in the store.

I have coloured one of the Class Trip Tildas in with my distress reinkers, this is Tilda with Froggy. I love his slightly perplexed expression, lol. I used one of the Gummiapan stitched ovals to cut her out and placed one of the special release doohickeys behind. I don't like throwing away pretty cut outs from dies, so here I have scattered some of the hearts around the image too.

Here is a close up of the doohickey, and also of the gorgeous antique luxury ornament.

I simply adore both of the bow dies from Magnolia, and they have both been re released. This is the bridal bow and I think that it is just so pretty.

Here is a close up of our gorgeous Tilda.

And my arty shot. This card is quite clean and simple for me, but when I have used so many gorgeous products I can't bring myself to cover them up.

Happy Father's Day with Pion Papers | By Nancy

Hello, friends! It's Nancy back today with a new project share!
With Father's Day coming up in June, I thought it was time I shared a Father's Day project. I had a great idea, started pulling products out to get to work, and got completely sidetracked by this lovely vintage image. It's another one from the Pion Design - From Grandma's Attic Collection.! It just happened to land on top of this beautiful teal paper from Pion Design.

The lovely image has soft tints of blue in it, that the paper draws out beautifully! The teal is the back side of the Pion Design - Mr Tom's Treasures - Borders paper. I've also used some bits of the borders.

I know that this isn't a typical Father's Day card. For some reason we always cover those cards with tools and manly things, and not tender family photos. Isn't this a lovely photo of a special Father/Child moment? It would be perfect for a man who has just become a Father too!

Now that my distraction project is over, I will get back to my planned project.
I'll be back to share that with you soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Come visit me at The Nickel Nook anytime! :o)
